Maxent/MX-50X3 and MX-5020HPMN/ASerial

Description:

This driver controls the Maxent Plasma TVs, models MX-50X3 and MX-5020HPM. This product supports basic TV controls such as Volume, Mute, Power, Input, Aspect, PIP and PIP Source. It also allows for Brightness, Contrast and Picture Mode control.

Quirks and Limitations:

Currently this driver supports the two models of Maxents listed, but may support more. Currently, the Maxent firmware is busted and it will not support Color, Tint and Sharpness.

Connection Details

The parameters are 9,600 baud, 8 bits, one stop bit, no parity. The connection is a standard straight through cable and a 3 wire should be fine.

The installation of the driver also requires the user to indicate the model TV used. The main difference between the MX-50X3 and 5020HPM is the number of HDMI ports. The 5020HPM supports 2 and the MX-50X3, only 1.
