Media management is a somewhat vague term, but it generally refers to getting your music and movies and home theater under control of the automation system, so that you can browse your CDs and DVDs via the automation system, preview information about them (artist, cover art, tracks, etc...), and then invoke the playback of the selected media. Though not one of the traditional areas that automation systems addressed, media management has become an increasingly important reason why people adopt automation systems. This is often combined with a multi-zone audio system to allow users in multiple rooms of the home to select their own music and control playback in their room.
